Guiding Eyes for the Blind
We are lucky to have the opportunity to work with an incredible local organization, Guiding Eyes for the Blind. Led by its founder and CEO Thomas Panek, GEB breeds, trains, and provides guide dogs for the blind and visually impaired.
Throughout our partnership, we’ve attended guide dog graduations, served as “puppy handlers” behind the scenes of a segment on The Today Show, and fundraised thousands of dollars to support Guiding Eyes and their mission–our goal is to raise enough money to name a future guide dog (hopefully one we can name Delta or George)!. We also participate in their annual Wag-A-Thon cumulative marathon ahead of the New York City Marathon each fall.
Visionwalk
Each spring, we join forces with collegians from across the city and Long Island to participate in VisionWalk. Benefitting the Foundation Fighting Blindness, the walk winds its way through either Central Park or Flushing Meadows Corona Park and raises money to help the blind and visually impaired in the area.
VisionWalk came back in full force for the 2022 walk and we were so proud to partner with our Brooklyn Delta Gamma sisters to walk to support the Foundation Fighting Blindness.
