Helping Hands for the disabled of NYC

A non-profit helping disabled adults, many of whom are blind, across the five boroughs. Volunteer opportunities include reading to the blind, running errands, escorting people to appointments, delivering food, fundraising, answering phones, and clerical work.

Minds Matter NYC

Minds Matter is a nationwide organization whose biggest chapter happens to be in NYC. They pair successful professionals with underprivileged high schoolers to ensure they match with a college that is the best fit for them and are always looking for mentors.

Friends in Service of Humanity

FISH is a new organization helping the elderly, disabled, and those who find themselves in crisis. Volunteers will answer phones, read to the blind, and run errands.

InTandem Biking

InTandem is a tandem biking group for the blind. You can help by applying as a  captain (riding as the lead with a blind person), help with fundraising, help with planning events, and many other opportunities.
